Planetary gearbox, P type

The planetary gearboxes of the P type are designed and constructed according to the latest findings and methods of gear unit technology. RENK-MAAG GmbH planetary gearboxes (epicyclic gear units) can transmit a power of up to 45 MW and serve as the key component of an energy production system or as drive units for compressors or pumps (such as those used in the chemical and petrochemical industries, steelworks, and in the process industry).

The sun pinions of the single- or multi-stage planetary gearboxes rotate at up to 36,000 rpm. The gearbox housing and the customer’s connecting dimensions can either conform to RENK’s standards or be adapted completely to the requirements of the customer. This is of crucial importance when it comes to replacing third-party products in particular.

Gearboxes from RENK-MAAG GmbH can be propelled by gas turbines, steam turbines, synchronous or asynchronous electric engines, or even by expanders (axial or radial turbines). The compact, straight-toothed gearboxes are equipped with hydrodynamic slide bearings throughout. Oil quantities and bearing temperatures can be reduced thanks to the design of bearings from RENK-MAAG GmbH.

RENK-MAAG GmbH is able to carry out the extremely demanding rotordynamic calculations in-house and therefore optimally adjust the gearbox to the process. Auxiliary equipment such as the rotary drive, starter motors, oil systems, and pumps can also be expertly integrated according to the customer’s needs.
