Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône, May 5, 2026 – RENK Group AG, a leading supplier of propulsion solutions for the military sector, today announced the launch of its new ESM 280 transmission, marking the company’s entry into the wheeled armored vehicle (WAV) market. The new transmission will be officially presented at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris.

Designed for medium to heavy military platforms up to 620 kW, the ESM 280 transfers technology from main battle tanks to wheeled vehicles. At its core is a range pack derived from the proven ESM 350, ensuring high performance, durability, and operational reliability in demanding environments.
Engineered from the ground up for military use, the system enables continuous operation under extreme conditions, uninterrupted tractive effort, and rapid maneuvering under load. At the same time, its compact design allows seamless integration into existing platforms without structural modifications.
The ESM 280 is a purpose-built military solution with a lifecycle of up to 40 years, ensuring long-term maintainability and independence from civilian platform cycles. This provides maximum flexibility for international programs.
Visitors to Eurosatory 2026 will be able to explore a detailed 3D-printed model of the ESM 280 at the RENK booth.
