La Spezia, October 22, 2024 – RENK Group AG, a leading supplier of military and civilian propulsion solutions, announces the foundation of RENK ITALIA Srl. The new subsidiary will be based in La Spezia, a strategically important region, particularly for the Group’s military business. RENK Group AG is thus strengthening its proximity to Italian customers and partners, while expanding its presence in the Mediterranean region.

A highly experienced team composed by Sergio Rizzi, CEO of RENK ITALIA Srl, and Pier-Federico Bisconti, Chairman of the Board of RENK ITALIA Srl, takes over the management of the new Italian branch.

About Admiral Pier-Federico Bisconti and Sergio Rizzi
Admiral Pier Federico Bisconti, Chairman of the Board of RENK ITALIA Srl since 2024, was born in Abbadia San Salvatore (Siena), Italy. After attending the "Francesco Morosini" Naval School in Venice, he entered the Naval Academy and graduated as an ensign in 1985. Specializing in Operations and Electronic Warfare, during his career he commanded the minesweeper "NUMANA", the frigate "SCIROCCO", and the destroyer "DURAND DE LA PENNE", participating in several national and international missions. Between 2009 and 2012, he worked at the Italian Embassy in Paris as a naval attaché in France. After his promotion to Rear Admiral, he was appointed Deputy Director of the International Relations and Policy Department of the Defense General Staff. From June 2013 and for over four and a half years, he was assigned to the Ministry of Defense as Deputy Chief of the Minister's Cabinet. After this experience, he returned to the Naval Staff from 2017 to 2019, where he headed the Maritime and Naval Policy Department. Promoted to Rear Admiral, he was appointed Chief of Staff of the Interforce Summit Operations Command from 2019 to 2021, and then served as Director of Naval Personnel in Rome. Finally, in 2022, he assumed the post of Deputy Secretary General of Defense and Deputy National Armaments Director until his transition into the reserve due to age limit.
Sergio Rizzi was born in Milan, Italy. He holds a degree in Aeronautical Sciences from the Academy of the Italian Air Force. His military career began in 1985. During the following ten years, he participated in various national and international missions as a Panavia Tornado Weapons Systems Officer. In 1995, he moved to the private industry and joined technology group Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) as Head of Sales DACH Low-Voltage Division. In 1996, within the ABB Group, Mr. Rizzi took on the position of Regional Sales Manager Germany before being appointed Head of Regional Sales Europe in 2011. In 2017 he became Head of International Sales & Marketing of the Spectrum Dominance & Airborne Solutions Division at HENSOLDT AG, where in 2021, he took on the position as Sr. Director of Strategy & Business Development. In 2024 he was appointed CEO RENK Italia Srl.
