Wheeled Vehicle

W

A wheeled vehicle is one that is propelled by its wheels rotating. Unlike tracked vehicles, wheeled vehicles offer higher driving speeds, lower rolling resistance and, as a rule, lower energy consumption on paved or flat surfaces. They are often lighter, require less maintenance, and cause less wear to road surfaces. Depending on their intended use, they may have two or more driven axles, all-wheel steering, or terrain optimisations such as tyre pressure regulation systems. Wheeled vehicles are widely used in sectors such as transportation, logistics, agriculture, construction and the military. In the latter context, they are used as armoured vehicles with high mobility and comparatively low logistical requirements.
